Dato' Tan Heng Chew

    

     Name Dato' Tan Heng Chew serves as President, Executive Deputy Chairman of the Board, Group Managing Director and Executive Director of Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad. He joined the board on October 19, 1985. He holds Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia and Masters degree in Engineering from the University of Newcastle, Australia. 

     Dato’ Tan joined the Tan Chong Group of companies in 1970 and was instrumental in the establishment of the Autoparts Division in the 1970s and early 1980s. He was appointed to the Board of Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad ("TCMH" or "the Company") on 19 October 1985 and was subsequently appointed as the Executive Deputy Chairman on 1 January 1999. He was re-designated as Executive Deputy Chairman and Group Managing Director on 1 July 2012. His corporate title has been changed to President effective 1 January 2015. Dato’ Tan is also the President of APM Automotive Holdings Berhad and Warisan TC Holdings Berhad. He is the number 12 in 2014 for the malaysian richest man but number 16 in 2015. This is because Tan Heng Chew's fortune fell by more than $300 million as a price war and an oversupply in the region's car market hurt the family's Tan Chong Motor Holdings. His company assembles cars, makes parts, sells heavy machinery and operates Nissan and Renault dealerships.
